City Council Meeting 6/24

There will be a fourth closed door session on the Kettner and Vine shelter lease proposal on Monday, June 24, 2024.  We need to have a large turnout in opposition to this delusional proposal.  While we need to flood them in person, there is also an opportunity to call in during public comment (included information below on how to call in).  We need to send a strong message and turnout at every council meeting and speak at public comment, they need to hear from us or else they just continue to say there are no adjacent neighbors, no nearby neighborhood.

For those in person, you can cede your time.  They only provide 1-3 minutes per person, but people who attend and don’t want to speak can cede their time to others.  It is important that the Council people see a turnout of people to know the opposition.  Please invite your friends and neighbors to attend or call in.  We need to flood them with our opposition.  This impacts all communities of San Diego who will be paying for this too.

This just in from the Mayor’s office…. He has in his highlights of accomplishments he has $28Million in additional funding to address homelessness (which does not even cover the costs need for Kettner and Vine) and this will help fulfil his commitment to add 1,000 new homeless shelter beds.  It is not a done deal.  He does not care about the homeless, as this is a dangerous location.

Please come on Monday and have others call in.

Thank you,

No on Kettner and Vine
